Bytemobile provides mobile internet software and services for operators of commercial wireless data networks. The company has offices throughout Europe, Asia and North America.

Bytemobile’s products enable network operators to deliver data, web and multimedia services to consumers on mass-market cellular phones, feature phones, smartphones, and laptop computers. The company’s IP applications are integrated within a single architecture and platform installed in the core of the operator’s network. As such, they adapt and optimize the delivery of content to all mobile devices to improve the user experience and reduce traffic.

Bytemobile was founded in 2000 to optimize data applications on wireless networks designed for voice services. In 2001, the company completed three live network deployments of its core product, the Optimization and Services Node (OSN). Today, Bytemobile's customer base consists of 111 mobile network operators in 54 countries, serving more than one billion subscribers. A few of the company's customers are AT&T, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, KDDI, Orange, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, Telefónica, Vodafone and WILLCOM. Bytemobile has global supply agreements with the world's largest telecommunications groups.

Products

Building on its core optimization technology, Bytemobile provides an infrastructure platform for the integration and deployment of value-added data services (Unison Mobile Internet Platform) and a mobile internet gateway application for traffic management through intelligent service control (WebGate Service).

The OSN applications on the Unison platform enable network operators to reduce data volumes for performance and capacity improvements, enforce fair-use policies to control network abuse, launch service plans with differentiated pricing models for new revenue opportunities, and scale their existing networks in line with traffic growth to contain operating and capital costs. The company offers clientless and client-server optimization solutions for both laptops and handsets. Content filtering for parental controls is available as an option of WebGate Service. Another OSN application (MobileMatch Service) provides real-time user analytics for the personalization of content and advertising based on individual browsing patterns.

In addition to the cost management benefits of the OSN applications, Bytemobile provides products that enable network operators to deliver and monetize open internet content on mobile devices.

The company’s Web Fidelity Suite adapts web, Flash and multimedia content for improved browsing on feature phones and full HTML browsing on smartphones. The software includes optional applications for the automatic insertion of advertising in adapted content and for the development and placement of widgets and other navigation tools on the device screen. Bytemobile’s content adaptation solutions operate across all mobile devices, require no client software and deliver made-for-mobile content without adaptation.

The company’s Media Fidelity Suite provides media optimization for the management of video traffic, which is driving significent growth of overall data traffic in the majority of 3G networks operated by tier-one carriers. Media optimization enables operators to enforce fair use policies and vary the pricing of their service plans to address consumer demand for bandwidth relative to video applications.
